From our kitchen to your table — ingredients that honor tradition, dishes that create memories. Open Tuesday through Sunday.
From the Kitchen
Wide ribbons of egg pasta, rolled by hand each morning, tossed with a Sunday-style ragù of braised beef short rib, San Marzano tomato, and a whisper of nutmeg.
$28Whole Mediterranean sea bass roasted in the wood oven with Taggiasca olives, Sicilian capers, cherry tomatoes, and fragrant lemon thyme. Deboned tableside.
$36Our grandmother's Tuscan bread soup — twice-cooked with cavolo nero, cannellini beans, day-old pane sciocco, and a generous pour of Lucca olive oil at the table.
$22Our Story
La Fonte — water and flour — the two things you need to make pasta. And pasta is where it all started. Marco and Lucia Ferretti left the Langhe hills of Piedmont in 2007, two years before they opened their doors on Main Street. They brought with them a battered recipe notebook, a pasta board worn smooth from years of use, and an absolute conviction that good food doesn't need to be complicated.
Every morning before the lunch rush, someone in this kitchen is rolling dough. The shapes change with the season — tajarin in summer, pappardelle in winter, agnolotti when there's something worth tucking inside — but the method hasn't changed since the day we opened. No extruder, no shortcuts. Just hands, rolling pin, and a little patience.
Sixteen years later, we're still here. The dining room holds forty-two seats. We know most of our regulars by name. We've watched kids who came in for birthday dinners grow up and bring their own families. That's the thing about a neighborhood restaurant: it becomes part of the neighborhood's story. We're grateful ours has been so long and so good.
Private Events
Our private dining room seats up to thirty guests in its own warmly lit corner of the restaurant, with a dedicated server, a custom menu developed with our kitchen, and a curated wine selection from our cellar. We've hosted everything from small rehearsal dinners to milestone birthdays to quarterly off-sites where people actually wanted to stay for dessert.
Every event is a little different, and we like it that way. Get in touch and tell us what you have in mind.
“The best pasta in the East Bay, full stop. We've been coming back for six years and have never once been disappointed.”
“A neighborhood treasure. La Fonte is everything a local Italian restaurant should be — personal, unhurried, and delicious.”
“1,465 reviews and still earning every star. The kind of place you want to keep to yourself but can't stop recommending.”
Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. We keep a few tables for walk-ins each evening, but there's no guarantee — best to book ahead and arrive knowing your seat is ready.
